Vera Sharav is a public advocate for human rights and is the founder and president of the Alliance for Human Research Protection (AHRP) which serves as an information resource and public interest watchdog organization whose goal is to unlock the walls of secrecy in biomedical research and bring accountability to that endeavor. AHRP Infomails have a wide following: they are read by physicians and scientists, public health officials, journalists, lawyers, and patient advocacy organizations.
Her advocacy achievements include: suspension of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) pesticide experiment (CHEERS) on children; complaint led to two federal investigations on the use of children in foster care as guinea pigs in experimental AIDS drug and vaccine trials; suspension of smallpox vaccine on children; suspension of “violence prediction” experiment that exposed 6–11 year old NYC boys of color to fenfluramine ; opened a public debate about the ethics of relapse-inducing experiments in schizophrenia patients. Organized families and victims of unethical research to join her in testifying before the National Bioethics Advisory Committee (NBAC) — re: unethical experimentation on mentally disabled psychiatric patients; those testimonies led to a prize-winning series in the Boston Globe, “Doing Harm: Research on the Mentally Ill” — ultimately resulting in the shutdown of 29 clinical trials at the National Institute of Mental Health (1999).
In 2023, Vera Sharav directed, produced and released her first documentary. A five-part series entitled NEVER AGAIN IS NOW GLOBAL. Holocaust survivors, children and grandchildren of survivors express their concerns about the ominous current repressive government edicts, fear-mongering propaganda, censorship, intrusive government mandates, and the threat of expulsion from society. Nelson Spencer Thall was Born in Toronto, Canada in 1952. He holds an Honours B.A. from York University and is a University of Toronto Grad. Nelson Spencer Thall is a media scientist and Marshall McLuhan scholar most noted for his portrayal of media commentator Lenny Bloom. In 1991 Nelson Thall was the recipient of the Marshall McLuhan Distinguished Teachers Award and on May 7, 1996 represented the Writers Guild of Canada before the Canadian Artists and Producers Professional Relations Tribunal, writing the legal definition of terms such as ‘multimedia’ into law. President of the Marshall McLuhan Center On Global Communications from 1990-1995. He has served on the Boards of Directors of Torstar, Stan Lee Media Inc., Peace Arch Films & Entertainment, and other publicly traded media companies.
In April 2004, Toronto police entered Nelson’s residence without a search warrant thus contravening his rights as granted under the Canadian constitution. This illegal entry by police occurred only weeks after the Cloak & Dagger Radio Show on AM640 broadcast live interviews with police informants who exposed internal police union corruption. Thall was arrested but never convicted, bail money and items seized returned to him by police. The break-in by police was reported in the newspaper. His lawyer, Edward Greenspan, claimed that his client was harassed as a result of his work on radio.
Tonight we bring Pamela Adams into the Anomic Age and to continue our conversation with Alan Myers on FED ED. Having worked in public schools for a decade she understood how they were failing our children and she wanted to make sure that didn’t happen to her child. She began to study history and write down what she learned, composing history letters to her daughter. They are addressed to Liberty, the childlike freedom that belongs to all of us. Pam’s letters tie the past to current events, showing how we consistently repeat history because we were never properly taught it.
